Catherine Jacobs Performs in Plymouth State University Theatre Production of Dracula

2014 Oct 9

Catherine Jacobs of Milton, N.H., theatre arts major at Plymouth State University, will perform the role of Maid in a production of Dracula, October 16-19 in the Hanaway Theatre at the Silver Center for the Arts.

Produced by the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance and co-directed by PSU faculty member Elizabeth Daily and alumnus Robin Marcotte, this is the classic story told with new twists and turns, as Dracula is seen in deeply shadowing light and illuminating darkness. Rich with both humor and horror, this play paints a wickedly theatrical picture of Stoker's famous vampire. Unique casting choices make this PSU version even more interesting and provocative. Dracula may be unsuitable for young children and for those sensitive to graphic horror.

Performances of Dracula are October 16 and 18 at 8 p.m., October 17 at 7 p.m. and October 18 and 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Silver Center Box Office, (603) 535-2787 or (800) 779-3869, or online at silver.plymouth.edu.

Plymouth State University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with options in acting, music theatre performance, theatrical design-tech, and a flexible contract option. A theatre minor is also available.
