Benedict Cesare Performs in Plymouth State University Theatre Production of Orpheus in the Underworld

Benedict Cesare of Boxborough, MA, a senior theatre arts major at Plymouth State University will perform the role of Mars in a production of Orpheus in the Underworld by Jacques Offenbach, April 11-14 in the Hanaway Theater at the Silver Center for the Arts.

Orpheus in the Underworld promises to be a hilarious and relatable operetta. In Orpheus in the Underworld, the title character goes on the journey of a lifetime as he travels from Earth to Olympus and into the Hades, meeting various intriguing and unique mortals and gods along the way. A family friendly show, Orpheus in the Underworld expands upon the mythological story of Orpheus, a mortal man who loses his wife Euridice in the Underworld and goes to retrieve her with the help of the good gods.
